It’s time for a little Contest!

It’s a Twitter follower contest! @briaquinlan, @mgbuehrlen, @dyromance and I (@catehart) were talking about unrealistic goals. We decided to set an unrealistic goal for Twitter followers and then see if we could get it. So now it is up to you all to help us meet our #unrealisticgoals! Don’t forget to tweet about the contest to earn an extra entry each week!

Check out my Official Webpage for the rules and details!!

Dorchester Publishers has a contest

June 14, 2009 at 10:23 pm (Contests, Writings) (, , , , , , , , )

Charles Dickens wrote many of his classic works in serial form.

Charles Dickens wrote many of his classic works in serial form.

First let me say, please vote for me!!!Dorchester Publishers has an interesting contest, and I decided to participate.  The premise : submit a novel (about 20 chapters) between June 1 and Novemeber 1 as a serial.  This means everyday or so you upload three or four pages of your novel with the intention of gathering a following, kind of like Twitter meets Charles Dickens.  The idea was derived from the old serials that Charles Dickens wrote, did you know that A Tale of Two Cities was published over months in serial form, along with many other stories by Dickens.

So I thought, why not.  I decided to use Broken and submit the first chapter, the prologue, that has recieved mixed reviews.  Check it out HERE.  Or jump over to www.textnovel.com and play along yourself, or read some other great novels in the making. You do have to register, but it’s free to join and free to add your own novel.  Oh, did I mention that the story with the most followers wins a publishing contract with Dorchester and a $2000 advance!
